Program Committee to meet this Saturday at Homegirl Cafe
UPDATE: Program Committee met on Saturday, March 26 at Philippe's
"Increasing Public Participation in Government" will be the theme for the LA City 2011 Congress of Neighborhood Councils to be held at City Hall, Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Attached is a copy of the Board Support Resolution for neighborhood councils. Please have your councils agendize and vote as soon as possible. With the cut off for funding requests fast approaching, please expedite. All contributions are appreciated.
If you have not yet designated someone from your NC board to participate in Congress planning meetings, please do so and let me know. Everyone is welcome. The next Congress Planning meeting will be Saturday, April 2. Location to be announced in a few days.
In the meantime, the Program Committee will be meeting this coming Saturday, March 19. This meeting is for anyone interested in organizing workshops, speakers and other "program-related" details so we can then bring them to the full Congress Planning meeting on April 2. Saturday's meeting will be at Homegirl Cafe in Downtown LA. If you have any Program Ideas, please "reply all" to this e-mail. If you would like to join us at this meeting, let me know so we can add you to the RSVP list.

Homegirl Cafe is located at the corner of Alameda and Bruno in Chinatown, across the street from the Metro Gold Line station and three blocks north of Union Station. Customer parking is directly behind the cafe, and there's street parking, as well.
If you would like to help in other areas such as Marketing and PR, City Department coordination, Food, etc. please let me know. This is our 2011 NC Congress and we're looking forward to organizing a great event with your help.

The date for the Los Angeles Citywide Neighborhood Council Congress 2011 has been confirmed to take place at City Hall on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
